PLANET SMOOTHIE
We were delighted to be chosen as the first Long Island General Contractor to build out for Planet Smoothie. Although Planet Smoothie is a large franchise known throughout, being the first in the Mall located on Veterans Highway in Lake Ronkonkoma was challenging. From the inception, the store they had moved into was dry (Verizon), so the task at hand was to make it a Wet store, thus creating New Kitchen, New Bathroom, New Workstations, New Preparation, and serving counters. This work required all underground plumbing to accept all the New plumbing and Waste lines. Planet Smoothie is a franchise, so we were given a handbook/outline of the material and design criteria.
Our role was not only to build out the store as the General Contractor but also to be the Construction Manager by hiring the Architect & Engineer. Our process for a Commercial project is simple. We put together a construction schedule followed by weekly progress meetings to ensure that the design criteria and project remain on track.
It’s rewarding when the parties come together and communicate, so the margin of error or emissions is minimal. As always, congratulations to our clients Felica & Brian Gibb as they continue to grow their business.
